The Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens offers four pre-university training tracks (in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated October 3, 2014, No. 1304, “On Approval of Development Requirements of Additional Educational Programs Providing Training for Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons to Master Professional Educational Programs in the Russian Language”). The tracks cover:
- medical and biological sciences,
- technical and engineering sciences,
- natural sciences,
- economic sciences.
The Russian language course takes up the majority of the preparatory year program. Other disciplines in the curriculum depend on the track, which in turn is defined by the field of your future studies, with an emphasis on scientific Russian language as the foundation of the medium of instruction.
In 2016, the Preparatory Department successfully launched the program for training foreign citizens before admission to Russian institutions of higher education; the program lasts for 1.5 years and comprises an extended Russian language course, introductory sightseeing and historical tours across the Krasnodar Krai region and its landmarks, as well as language immersion workshops at the university departments.
Schedule: 4-8 academic hours a day (1 academic hour = 45 min), 5-6 days a week. Russian language groups are designed for no more than 12 students, while for common disciplines the limit is 20 students.
