The Research Institute of Applied and Experimental Ecology of Kuban State Agrarian University was created in December 1995.
Currently, the institute is a large research center in the field of ecology, staffed with qualified specialists and equipped with modern laboratory equipment, which allows solving many environmental problems at a high scientific and technical level, including using the scientific potential of the entire university.
The main goal of the Institute of Ecology is to assist in solving environmental problems and increasing the level of environmental safety in Krasnodar region and other regions of Russia using the scientific potential of Kuban State Agrarian University.
The Research Institute of Applied and Experimental Ecology is accredited for technical competence by the Federal Accreditation Service to conduct research on the physical and chemical properties of environmental objects and radiation monitoring. To solve environmental problems, the institute has licenses from Roshydromet, Rospotrebnadzor and SRO Certificates for engineering and environmental surveys and environmental justification of construction projects, including hazardous facilities, as well as a certificate of compliance of the quality management system with the ISO 9001 standard.
The institute’s customers are industrial and agricultural enterprises, municipalities, state executive authorities at the regional and federal levels, design institutes and scientific organizations.
The main directions of scientific activity of the research institute, corresponding to the provisions of the Russian Federation Law “On Environmental Protection”, are:
- development of measures to preserve and develop the natural and recreational potential of the Krasnodar Territory, including conducting an environmental survey of newly created specially protected areas of regional and local significance with various target functions, as well as the development of projects for the reclamation of disturbed agricultural lands;
- assessment of the consequences of the negative impact of economic and other activities on the environment, including an assessment of the background state of the environment based on engineering and environmental surveys, identifying factors of the negative impact of the planned economic and other activities and determining its acceptable level, developing scientifically based measures to reduce the negative impact economic activities and development of environmental monitoring programs;
- development and improvement of indicators for comprehensive assessment of environmental impact, methods and methods for their determination, including the development of information and analytical systems for state authorities at the regional level and local governments, as well as for business entities;
- development and creation of the best technologies in the field of environmental protection and rational use of natural resources, including the development of technological regulations for the preparation of organic fertilizers based on animal waste using effective microorganisms;
- development of elements of an environmental management system for industrial and agricultural enterprises, including certification of waste, development of waste generation standards and limits on their disposal, development of standards for permissible discharge of pollutants into water bodies, development of standards for maximum permissible emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere;
- implementation, as a part of the assessment of the negative impact of economic and other activities, of laboratory and analytical studies of the content of harmful substances in environmental objects, including conducting studies to determine quantitative chemical, microbiological and parasitological parameters of waste and natural waters, including sea waters, emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere air and the atmospheric air itself, as well as soils and soils, production and consumption waste, determining soil fertility and developing recommendations for its improvement, conducting radiation studies, measuring the physical parameters of negative impacts, etc.
For about 25 years, the institute has been providing environmental services for state and municipal government bodies and business entities and has positive feedback on the quality of the work performed.
