In compliance with the applicable migration legislation, foreign citizens and stateless persons crossing the Russian border must obtain a migration card. The applicant must specify “Studying” as their purpose of entry!
Upon arrival, foreign citizens must undergo migration registration. To obtain your migration registration at the university, you must provide your migration card with a border control mark confirming your entry on the territory of the Russian Federation.
A migration card is a document containing information about the foreign citizen entering the Russian Federation. It records and controls their temporary stay on the territory of the Russian Federation.
You must visit the Preparatory Department Passport and Visa Control Inspector upon arrival in Krasnodar (no later than THREE business days since crossing the border), who will help you prepare all the necessary documents for the migration registration in the territory of the Russian Federation.
Present your documents to the Preparatory Department (office 507, 13 Kalinina St., Hydrotechnical Melioration bld., Krasnodar).
For migration registration, you need:
1. Identification document, original and copy;
2. Migration card, original and copy, with a border control mark confirming your entry on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The initial migration registration is valid for 90 days!
!!! 5 days prior to the expiration date of their initial migration registration, the international student must consult the Preparatory Department Passport and Visa Control Inspector on the extension of their registration period.
Re-registration is valid until the end of the preparatory year (for countries that require a visa to enter Russia, it is valid until the expiration date).
The Passport and Visa Control Inspector of the Preparatory Department keeps the original migration card; the student gets a copy of their migration card and their original arrival notice (registration document).
!!! When leaving and re-entering the Russian Federation, you must apply for initial migration registration and receive migration clearance upon obtaining a new migration card.
Warning! Foreign citizens violating migration legislation are subject to financial penalties in the form of a fine of up to 7,000 RUB and deportation from the territory of the Russian Federation pursuant to the court judgment.
Foreign citizens MUST:
carry the tear-off part of the arrival notice with the federal migration service mark confirming their migration registration for the entire approved duration of their stay in Russia (registration period);
present it with the passport and migration card copy to the law enforcement officers during the migration checks.
