The XVI International Scientific and Practical Conference “Food Security: Challenges and Solutions” was opened by KubSAU Rector, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Trubilin.
Fedor Dereka, Minister of Agriculture of the Krasnodar Territory, welcomed the participants of the plenary session. In his speech, he stressed the relevance of the conference topic, noted the achievements of the Kuban farmers. Academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences Ivan Ushachev, Anatoly Altukhov, Viktor Khlystun, Alexander Kostyaev, KubSAU Rector Alexander Trubilin and VSAU Rector Elena Zakshevskaya made reports. Discussions centred on the strategy for the development of the agro-industrial complex and rural areas, practical training of Agriculture students, land management issues, and export strategy for the development of the national agro-food market.
The plenary session marked the start of the International Conference, which will last from 3 to 5 June. Lecturers and students at KubSAU, professors and associate professors at foreign universities were invited to participate.
Within the framework of the International Conference, the International Student Olympiad in Economics will also be held for the first time.
