The most interesting event of the year in the life of the Kuban State Agrarian University was a visit to the capital of the 2014 Olympic games by a group of University students. The trip took place from 19 to 21 December and was organized for 150 creatively active and athletic guys involved in the research work and in the governance of the University, as well as foreign students.
On the first day during a tour of the Olympic venues of the Coastal and Mountain clusters representatives of Kuban State Agrarian University was able to look at the ice arena "Shaiba", the winter Palace of sports "Iceberg", the Main media centre and Olympic torchlight.
On the second day of their visit to Sochi students of the Kuban University visited mountain-sports facilities, which are located in Krasnaya Polyana, in 48 km from ice arenas of the Olympic Park. There during the Olympic games were held competitions in cross-country skiing, biathlon, bobsleigh, ski jumping, snowboarding and freestyle skiing.
The students went on the cable car "Olympia" on the altitude 2320 m, where year-round snow, saw a new laid tunnels, Railways and roads and ski slopes. Some of the foreigners had never seen snow, and fun playing in the snow led them into a real delight.
When the students came back to Krasnodar, representatives of the Kuban SAU expressed the gratitude to the rector of the University, Alexander Ivanovich Trubilin by which the dream of many people to see the Sochi Olympics became a reality!
All students proudly stated that such an atmosphere of celebration, friendship and positive emotions, as in Sochi, they have never experienced.
