International affairs

Kuban State Agrarian University has long-standing traditions of international cooperation. One of the main forms of international activity of the university in the field of education is the training of foreign students, Masters and Postgraduates. Since 1968 more than 5,500 foreign students have studied at our university. A lot of them later entered PhD programs and defended their Candidate of Sciences Degree theses. The graduates from Kuban State Agrarian University have good career opportunities and successfully work in their homeland as highly qualified specialists in the field of animal husbandry, horticulture, veterinary medicine, ecology and food technologies.

The university has elaborated a Concept for development of the international work of KubanSAU for the period up to 2017, which aims to ensure effective integration of KubanSAU in the global area of education and science.

The main strategic tasks of the university within the concept of development of international affairs are:

  • increase in the contingent of foreign students studying at the university in Bachelor, Master and Postgraduate programs;
  • activate students’, postgraduates’ and teachers’ participation in programs of international academic mobility;
  • increase the number of students studying abroad within international Master programs in partner universities of European countries and CIS countries in order to obtain a double diploma;
  • strengthening the international cooperation of “Scientific Schools”, performing joint scientific research work, taking part in joint MBA programs;
  • strengthening the international cooperation of “Scientific Schools”, performing joint scientific research work, taking part in joint MBA programs;
  • activation of the university’s practice within the framework of international fundraising.

The realization of the Concept of development of international activity of the university has led to a significant increase in the number of participants of international exchanges and the expansion of the boundaries of academic mobility.

Kuban State University maintains stable relations with leading universities and research institutions in Germany, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, the USA and the CIS countries, which are participants of international programs for academic mobility like Erasmus Mundus, DAAD, FULBRIGHT, ISFRADA - the program for employment of agricultural universities’ graduates. Over the past seven years the total number of participants in international educational exchanges, including grant projects, has amounted up to 720 people. In 2011 Kuban SAU joined international program TEMPUS, the main task of which is to expand international cooperation in the field of higher education between the European Union and the partner countries in the context of the Lisbon strategy and the Bologna process implementation.

Scientists of Kuban SAU cooperate with many foreign universities, work on joint research projects and annually present their research achievements at international conferences and competitions. During 2010-2012 the university received 12 diplomas and 8 gold and silver medals as a result of participating in 10 international exhibitions.
